  • WBA interim flyweight world champ Nonito Donaire Jr. proves once again that he may have the physique of a fighter, but he has a soft heart.
  • He donated 100 houses to struggling typhoon survivors in Iloilo.
  • This isn't the first time he did something like this. Back in 2009, he also helped typhoon victims recover.

The Nonito Donaire Jr. aka “Filipino Flash” will soon be preparing for his match with Irishman Carl Frampton in April. Still, the interim world champion flyweight is never too busy to lend a hand to those who need it. Back in 2009, he donated a million pesos to fund a housing project for Typhoon Ondoy victims.

In 2013, another destructive typhoon hit the country — Typhoon Yolanda this time it hit Lemery, Iloilo. Hundreds of Filipinos lost their homes in this disaster. English businessman Greg Secker, along with his foundation, launched a housing project called Build a House, Build a Home

Nonito Donaire, Jr. is part of this endeavor once more, and he even flew to Iloilo earlier this week to witness the turnover of over a hundred homes to these typhoon victims who are still in the process of rebuilding their lives after the destructive tragedy that was Yolanda.
