Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson corrected the church heads in her Philippine Star Article on July 3, 2018.

Church leaders started to be a vocal critic of President Rodrigo Duterte after the latter criticized God as well as some books in the Bible like the book of Genesis along with the original sins of the humankind.

In her article Uson, who’s a Christian, responded that she didn’t create the article to show that Duterte didn’t devote a sin against God.

Uson declared that she doesn’t desire to debate with the Church leaders regarding the declarations of President Duterte, but she really wanted to uncover some insights to those individuals who decided to decline God due to what the Church Leaders committed.

Before I digress, let me just make myself clear: I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE PRESIDENT DID NOT COMMIT A SIN AGAINST “GOD.” I am not saying what he did was right. But since they are so quick to judge, let us also get answers from what these people (and to others also practicing the Christian faith) believe in – the Bible. This is not to argue with them, but rather to hopefully shed light to those who now refuse to believe in God or Jesus mainly because of what some of these “church leaders” portray.”, mentioned by Asec. Mocha.

She lectured the church heads who criticized President Duterte with certain bible verses and also reminded these people that Jesus Christ went to Earth, to not ever judge the mankind however to save all of them from their sins.

According to John 3:17, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” Mocha restated.

It is clear that Jesus Christ took to human form not to judge the man, nor to point out that we are sinners. Rather, he came to earth to save us from sin.”, she also added.

Uson mentioned that in case they actually value the country, they should pray for the Philippines and also for the President rather than denouncing his claims, since Jesus Christ didn’t criticize the sinners, instead he assured them to have faith in God.

I have this message to our church leaders: if you love our country, then pray for it. Pray for our President and not condemn him. The Lord Jesus Christ, whom you preach to your followers, did not come to earth to condemn mankind for his sins, so who are you to condemn sinners?”, Asec. Mocha stated.

She confronted the Church leaders that in case they want Duterte to seek forgiveness to God, they need to clearly show kindness to the President to encourage him to repent.

If you want President Duterte to repent – if you think he committed sin, then why don’t you show him compassion and kindness? It is according to Romans 2:4, “God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance.” Asec. Uson ended her article.
