As her husband, it was rather expected of Ogie Alcasid to stand by Regine Velasquez in her dissent of President Rodrigo Duterte’s castigation of her beliefs.
We can recall that Asia’s Songbird had previously called out the Philippine leader for his blasphemy. An excerpt of her recent tirade of tweets shows Regine asking Duterte to leave God out of politics.
“Hindi naman po namumulitika si God kaya ‘wag na po natin siya idamay.”
On Tuesday, it was Ogie’s turn to react to the issue. With no mention of the President, the balladeer argued for Regine through a single tweet.
Moreover, the husband retweeted a statement from Brother Eddie Villanueva who commended Pres. Duterte for his apology. This was in light of the President having expressed his regrets during a meeting with the religious leader.
“I am glad that the President has apologized to the Living GOD. Only the LORD our GOD can judge our sincerity.”
