Senator Antonio Trillanes IV responded on the proclamation of the palace which voided the amnesty given to him by the former Aquino administration.

According to Trillanes, the order of the Palace against him proves that the President is a dictator and they’re doing everything just to prosecute the critics of the government.

He also labeled the executive order ridiculous because he believes that the amnesty given to him was an act of Congress and it cannot be superseded.

Trillanes suggested that the Duterte government should study their proclamation carefully.

In-apply namin iyon. Hindi ako bibigyan ng amnesty kung wala akong application. Kung ‘di ko nafulfill ang requirements, ‘di ako bibigyan.” Trillanes said.

Mr. Duterte, hindi ako takot sayo. Bakit mo kailangan pang pumunta ng Israel?” He added.

He also said that he would not hide, or resist arrest.

Hindi ako magtatago, definitely. Ang sa’kin lang, my lawyers are exhausting all legal remedies. I will abide by the Senate leadership.” he said.

On Tuesday, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra confirmed that President Duterte signed the proclamation no 572 declaring that the amnesty received by Trillanes was void.

The Palace ordered the DOJ and Court Martial of the Armed Forces of the Philippines “to pursue all criminal and administrative cases filed” against Trillanes.
