Earlier this week, a man named Rolando Castillo became a victim of a fake recruiter who promised to land him a high-paying job as a laborer. The unidentified man persuaded Castillo to come with him to Zamboanga City.

The clueless victim left his family in Mandaue, Cebu City and packed his belongings to travel Zamboanga. However, when they arrived at the terminal, the fake recruiter ill intentions were revealed when he left Castillo all alone and took all of his belongings.

Castillo stayed in the city for three days without any food. He tried to ask for some alms from different 'carinderias', but his attempts were in vain. Eventually the Zamboanga police were notified of his predicament. They immediately sprang into action to help the victim.

Police trainees and officers from Divisoria Police all chipped in to give something for the victim. All in all, they managed to raise about PHP 3,000 to help Castillo get back home.

In a video, Castillo was in tears after receiving the money given to him by the policemen.

However, Netizen's were divided over this story. While some were touched by Castillo’s story, others called him out for being a scammer.

Find out what they have to say about this below:
