Election fraud was the defining factor surrounding Liberal Party’s Leni Robredo’s surprise win over former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos on last year’s general elections.

National Citizens Movement for Free Election (NAMFREL), and Bacolod City Comelec Officer reports that the small town of Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental was beset by fraudsters who apparently posed as dead people, bringing the vote totals to 153 for Bongbong Marcos and 7,879 for Leni Robredo.

There are only 14,277 registered voters in Salvador Benedicto. In addition, police record says Robredo’s people were caught red-handed campaigning at a polling location and authorities apprehended a “van full of illegals” that was traveling from polling place to polling place voting for Robredo.

After the news broke out on Thursday, more dead folks have been found voting for Robredo, this time in Moises Padilla town.

“Bacolod election officials have determined that more than 22,000 votes (that’s 7,879 more than yesterday) so far in the the province of Negros Occidental are null and void because the voters don’t appear to be living,” local news station DYHB radyo Agong reported on Saturday.

“It appears that these voters’ names were never removed from the rolls when they passed away and someone used their information to stack votes for Leni Robredo.”

Already, 150,000 have signed a petition on Change.org asking the provincial Comelec to investigate the very obvious instances of voter fraud that have occurred in Negros Occidental last year.

The Western Visayan province is fourth vote-rich province in the Philippines and has a 1.6 million voters. Officials estimated that at least 70,000 fake votes were cast for Robredo.
