Itinalaga ni Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte si Teresita Leonardo De Castro bilang bagong Punong mahistrado ng kataas taasang hukuman.
Pinalitan nito ang pinatalsik na dating Chief Justice Maria Laurdes Sereno sa bisa ng Quo Warranto na inihain ni Solicitor Genereal Jose Calida dahil sa kakulangan nitong ipasa ang kabuang SALN
noong ito'y nag-apply sa pagiging punong mahistrado ng Korte suprema taong 2012.
