Facebook user Joannes Joyjoy Pepito Alegado uploaded a video where the detainees were emotionally singing their graduation song. The heartwarming moment displayed the graduates as they burst into tears after passing the accreditation and equivalency tests of our Alternative Learning System (ALS) inside the Consolacion Municipal correctional facility.

Another batch was from the University of Perpetual Help Bilibid Extension School, where 37 detainees successfully received their diplomas. Impressively, eighteen graduates completed their Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, while 19 finished a Computer Hardware Servicing course.

During this special moment, New Bureau of Corrections Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa was the guest speaker. In his speech, he congratulated both the students and their families for their success.

While Batangas City’s provincial correctional facility was also proud to produce 129 degree holders. Around 30 were graduates of Junior High School – ALS while 99 have completed their Health and Wellness Massage training course of  Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

With their success, it can’t be denied that these people have chosen to start the new chapter of their lives. Yes, it’s true that they made mistakes, but who doesn’t deserve a second chance? These people have decided to make their lives better for themselves and their families. It is only right for us to feel proud for them and to honor them with respect.
