Hindi natutuwa si Magdalo Representative Gary Alejano sa pagpunta ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Hongkong para kamustahin ang mga kababayan nating Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). Ayon sa kongresista, isang paglulustay at pag-aaksaya umano ng pera ng bayan ang ginagawa ng Presidente. Tinawag din ni Alejano na ka-ipokritohan ang 'working-visit' ng Presidente.
"Aside from giving a speech to about 2,000 mostly Filipino domestic helpers in Hong Kong and supposedly dining in a fastfood chain, all for PR purposes, what has his so-called ‘working visit’ achieved for the benefit of our country and people? Nothing... With his family members and a large entourage, dining and sightseeing in that city, presumably with taxpayers’ paying for the considerable costs of their stay in Hong Kong. Isn’t this hypocrisy in the highest order" sabi ni Alejano.
Ang mga akusasyon ni Alejano ay agad sinupalpal ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque. Ayon kay Roque, investments at bilateral agreements ang naging resulta working visit ng Pangulo.
"Baseless criticisms do not deserve a response. The investments, bilateral agreements and enhanced relationship between China and Philippines prove otherwise," buwelta ni Roque.
Hindi naman pinalampas ng mga kababayan natin ang lumabas sa bunganga ni Alejano at agad itong binanatan.
