“I don’t want a Filipino maid anymore,” Alqattan said complaining about the rule that all Filipino domestic helpers should now get the privilege of keeping their passport instead of surrendering it to their employers.

“But how can you have a ‘servant’ in your house who gets to keep their passports with them? If they ran away and went back to their country, who’ll refund me?” she added.





On top of that, the popular Kuwaiti influencer also complained about the rule stating that employers should allow their Filipino workers to enjoy at least one whole day of rest,“And what’s worse is that they have one day off every week?” Alqattan said.

It could be recalled that in May 2018, the Philippines at Kuwaiti Government signed an agreement which aims to protect the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in the Gulf state.

This prompted after a diplomatic rift between two countries arise after a Filipina domestic helper was found dead inside a refrigerator of an abandoned apartment in Kuwait, this also prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to implement a temporary deployment ban of migrant workers to Kuwait.
